Needham believes the competitive threat Qualcomm (QCOM) poses to Synaptics (SYNA) is being overstated. After meeting with Synaptics CEO Rick Bergman, Needham thinks Qualcomm's Sense ID does not pose an immediate threat to the company's fingerprint sensors. Further, the firm believes Synaptics could be part of the development of RSP's new ForceTouch, which is speculated to be included in the upcoming iPhone 6S and Apple Watch. It maintains a Strong Buy rating on the stock with a $110 price target.
