After viewing a presentation by Micron, JMP Securities says the company does not deny that its PC channel has been weak, and also does not refute the possibility that Samsung could gain share in the iPhone and that the price of certain flash memory products are declining. However, the firm quotes Micron as saying that the PC weakness isn't new, while its contract pricing remains resilient and its new opportunities in mobile will more than compensate for any loss in iPhone share. The firm believes that near-term risk factors are already reflected in Micron's stock, and it keeps an Outperform rating on the shares.
