The recent release of a popular Chinese documentary film which discusses the negative effects of the country's pollution problems could cause its Congress to provide more support for solar energy when it meets this week, Roth Capital says. The firm believes that speculation about such a development boosted solar stocks yesterday, despite weak results from JinkoSolar (JKS). Roth warns that there is little visibility into what the Congress will do and any policy changes will take time, but it says that the sector's stocks could continue to rise in the near-term. It keeps a Buy rating on JinkoSolar. Other publicly traded companies in the space include Canadian Solar (CSIQ), First Solar (FSLR), JA Solar (JASO), SunPower (SPWR), Trina Solar (TSL) and Yingli Green Energy (YGE).
