Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster says near-term investor concerns with regards to Google (GOOG) shares are overblown. Munster thinks investors are concerned that Google will lose its search deal with Apples (AAPL) Safari and that the search giants investments have pressured margins. He believes, however, that if Google were to lose Safari, the company will likely gain back that lost share within a year. Further, Munster believes Google's investments in robotics, self-driving cars, fiber, wireless and augmented reality will yield longer term revenue growth. The analyst views the resolution of the Safari deal and the possibility for cost-per-clicks turning positive for the first time since September 2011 as catalysts for the stock in 2015. Munster reiterates an Overweight rating on Google with a $630 price target. The stock closed Tuesday up $3.77 to $578.79.

The U.K. plans to hold talks this month with Apple (AAPL), Meta (META), Alphabet (GOOGL) and others to push a voluntary charter granting parents more control of social media use by young teens, Bloomberg's Ellen Milligan reports. According to people familiar with the matter, ministers want to launch a consultation later this month to gauge ways of limiting the potential harm to children caused by social media, and the proposed voluntary charter may involve tech firms agreeing to alert parents when their children are repeatedly looking up disturbing content.
