Northland said it continues to believe Altera (ALTR) is a good strategic acquisition target for Intel (INTC), as the firm thinks the company would fit nicely into the data center strategy that is central to Intel�s growth plans. Northland sees web scale data center operators customizing silicon for data center equipment and believes that this will include the use of FPGAs such as those offered by Altera. The firm has Market Perform ratings on both Altera and Intel shares.
