Exxon Mobil says the value of its oil and gas reserves are not threatened by future regulations to protect the climate, and says economies will need the fuels too much to embrace drastic cuts in greenhouse-gas emissions, the Wall Street Journal reports. The company affirms that climate changes poses a risk to society, but says it is "confident" that none of its hydrocarbon reserves "are now or will become 'stranded.'" Reference Link

Companies are buying back their own shares at its fastest pace since the financial crisis to fuel a stock rally, reports the Wall Street Journal. According to Birinyi Associates, companies have bought back $338.3B of stock in 1H14, the most since 2007.
