theflyonthewall.com: Financial Select Sector is bearishly lagging other sector ETFs
The one sector not experiencing a bullish lift as we head toward mid-day is the financial sector. Currently, the XLF is trading below its 50-day moving average, last at $14.84. While not far from this level, it is the fact that the 50-day has acted more as resistance than support over the prior week which is troubling. Support levels to watch as potential downside objectives are at $14.54, $14.27, $13.97, and $13.62. The latter level, $13.62, is one to keep an eye on. This was the low for the ETF since early August. A breakdown below this level would break the range which has been in place since that time, and would suggest the price movement of the last several months has been topping action. A move above the $15 area would void most bearish concerns. :theflyonthewall.com
