A number of companies, including Las Vegas Sands (LVS), and Wynn (WYNN), are building new casinos in Macau, a Chinese city that has become a gambling mecca, according to The New York Times. Marriott (MAR) is building a new hotel in the city, the newspaper added. Gambling revenue in Macau - which has become a much larger gambling hub than Las Vegas - is expected to continue to grow significantly for some time, the newspaper noted. BofA/Merrill lowered its 2014 Macau gross gaming revenue forecast to +5% year-over-year from +12% due to a slowdown in July mass trends. As a result, the firm lowered Las Vegas Sands' (LVS) price target to $88 from $95 and Wynn Resorts' (WYNN) to $260 from $270.
