12:03 EDTWWEWWE sees Q1 adjusted OIBDA exceeding high end of guidance
The level of WWE Network subscribers is a critical determinant of the company’s projected future financial performance. In 2015, the company expects year-over-year adjusted OIBDA growth in every quarter, with growth driven by the performance of WWE Network as well as the escalation of television rights fees, and continued innovation across all of the company’s businesses. For the first quarter, the company currently projects its adjusted OIBDA will exceed the high end of its most recent public guidance associated with the quarter’s actual average of 918,000 paid subscribers.2 The most recent public guidance implied a range of adjusted OIBDA of approximately $3M-$8M associated with that average. The company is maintaining its 2015 Business Outlook at various subscriber levels as released on February 12.

06:14 EDTDTV, DISHAT&T betting on slow decline in traditional cable packages, WSJ says
AT&T (T) knew that demand for cable bundles had likely peaked when it bought DirecTV (DTV), but the company believes the decline in traditional cable businesses will be slower than anticipated, allowing it to fund upgrades to its broadband network, reports the Wall Street Journal, citing statements by Chief Strategy Officer John Stankey. "The world is going to be broadband... and that is where we want to be," said Stankey. The Journal notes that Apple (AAPL), Time Warner's (TWC) HBO, and Dish (DISH) have launched or plan to launch web-TV packages and services. Reference Link

13:59 EDTWWEMacquarie sees risk of being long WWE ahead of WrestleMania numbers
Macquarie sees risk to being long WWE (WWE) ahead of WrestleMania subscriber data expected on the March 30 conference call. The firm expects WWE Network to announce 1.5M subs post-Mania but expects that number to drop dramatically, and history suggests the loss of 700,000 subscribers in the next two months. Macquarie said no matter how favorable the numbers are, traders will focus on attrition post-Mania, which may result in a "sell the news" scenario. Shares are Neutral rated with a $14 price target.

08:13 EDTDTVPendrell unit: Court rejects attempts to limit scope of DRM patents
ContentGuard Holdings, a subsidiary of Pendrell Corporation (PCO), announced that on Friday, March 20, Judge J. Rodney Gilstrap of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a 144 page Claim Construction Order in lawsuits ContentGuard filed against several companies who continue to use its patented Digital Rights Management solutions without a license, including Apple (AAPL), Amazon.com (AMZN), DirecTV (DTV), Google (GOOG), HTC, Huawei, Motorola Mobility and Samsung Electronics (SSNLF). In his order, Judge Gilstrap interpreted the language in ContentGuard’s patents in a manner that fully preserves the breadth of ContentGuard’s patented Digital Rights Management technologies. These technologies were developed to enable the distribution of digital media over the Internet and other networks, including cellular and satellite networks, and provide innovative solutions to problems that were once thought to be unsolvable. “We are very pleased with the Court’s ruling,” commented James Baker, ContentGuard’s Vice President for Licensing and Strategic Development. “We believe these claim constructions demonstrate that the online stores defendants provide for buying and renting DRM-protected movies, videos, books, and music and devices that play, run, display or print this DRM-protected content infringe ContentGuard’s pioneering DRM patents.”
