Verizon (VZ) sees gross debt $110B by end of quarter. Says confident in competitive position. Sees upside in getting customers to 4G devices, says tablets present "great" opportunity for growth. The company says it has 3.6M tablet customers. Sees expanding opportunities as mobile networks become platform for most of world's digital traffic. Sees opportunities in mobile video market, will continue to pursue connected device market. Says continue to invest in networks and purchase spectrum. Expects cash taxes to increase. Sees opportunities to streamline wireline in FY14. Says product portfolio should evolve "pretty quickly." The company said it is "absolutely" in the market for spectrum, will need to acquire spectrum for the next 5-10 years. The company says it doesn't see share repurchases for at least the next 2-3 years. Says debt reduction will be a priority. Says service revenue is "key to this business." Sees marketing spend remaining constant. The company says one third of customers are on basic devices and one third of devices are on 3G. The company says it is "pleased" to see that Netflix (NFLX) and Comcast (CMCSA) have an arrangement. Sees involvement in net neutrality rulemaking. Comments made during the company's conference call discussing the completion of Verizon's purchase of Vodafone's (VOD) stake in Verizon Wireless joint venture.

Verizon said in a filing that on February 17, the company reorganized its operating structure. John G. Stratton, formerly Verizonís EVP and President Ė Global Enterprise and Consumer Wireline, has been appointed to a new role as EVP and President of Operations, with operational responsibility for Verizonís wireless and wireline businesses. Stratton will continue to report to Lowell C. McAdam, Chairman and CEO of Verizon. Daniel S. Mead, formerly Verizonís EVP and President and CEOĖ Verizon Wireless, has been appointed to a new role as EVP and President of Strategic Initiatives, with responsibility for directing the transfer of Verizonís wireline operations in California, Florida and Texas to Frontier Communications Corporation. Mead will continue to report to McAdam. Mead expects to retire following the completion of the strategic initiatives on which he is working.
