10:20 EDTVZ, TMRKVerizon's offering period for shares of Terremark expires
Verizon Communications (VZ) announced that the subsequent offering period of its tender offer for all outstanding shares of Terremark Worldwide (TMRK) common stock has expired. After acquiring all shares validly tendered during the subsequent offering period, Verizon Holdings owns approximately 78,449,980 shares of Terremark common stock, representing approximately 96.6% of the outstanding shares. Verizon intends to promptly move forward with a "short-form" merger under Delaware law through which Terremark will become a direct, wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon.

Sprint (S) is preparing to engage in a fierce price competition on the heels of an almost complete network revamp, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing Masayoshi Son, the CEO of parent company Softbank (SFTBY). Sprint is currently testing new pricing plans, and will utilize its "street fighter" strategies to take on larger rivals Verizon (VZ) and AT&T (T). "Price competition will intensify.
