RDA Microelectronics (RDA) announced that Samsung (SSNLF) has selected the RDASW36 switch for two Samsung models, the 2G Samsung Galaxy Star smartphone and the 3G Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo smartphone. Both smartphones are expected to be released in Q2 and will be sold in Europe and emerging markets, such as South America. Verizon (VZ) disclosed in a regulatory filing that on May 9, the board of representatives of Verizon Wireless declared distributions to its owners in the aggregate amount of $7B, payable on June 25 in proportion to their respective partnership interests on the date of such distribution. Based on current ownership interests in Verizon Wireless, Verizon will receive cash payments aggregating $3.85B and Vodafone (VOD) will receive cash payments aggregating $3.15B.
