theflyonthewall.com: China's WuXi expanding as business grows, IBD says
WuXi PharmaTech (WX), China's largest contract research organization, provides drug discovery and analytics services to pharmaceutical companies, according to Investor's Business Daily. WuXi's business has been expanding, and it is looking to enter new areas like viral toxicology and large-scale manufacturing. Analysts say that WuXi is the leader in its field in China, and Susquehanna International Group analyst Ding Ding thinks that Western companies are using Chinese contract research organizations more extensively. However, WuXi is facing some risks as foreign competitors try to gain a foothold in the Chinese market and the company is relying on FDA approval of Vertex's (VRTX) Telaprevir, which would be manufactured by WuXi.
