Volvo's goal to turn China into an export hub shows parent company Zhejiang Geely is out to disprove pessimists who are doubting Chinese companies' ability to manage worldwide consumer brands, according to Reuters, citing comments from an executive who requested anonymity because he is not authorized to speak with reporters. The car manufacturer is hoping to surpass its FY14 China sales target by at least 13%. Reference Link

In October truck deliveries rose by 15% in Europe and by 6% in North America. On the other hand, deliveries decreased by 31% in South America and by 3% in Asia. In total the Volvo Group's wholly-owned operations delivered 20,193 trucks, which was 2% more than in October 2014. Production in North America will be adjusted as a consequence of lower demand and high inventories in the distribution channel.

Sypris Technologies, a subsidiary of Sypris Solutions (SYPR), announced that it has been awarded a long-term contract with Volvo (VOLVY) Group North America LLC and Mack Trucks, Inc. for the supply of axle shafts for use on Volvo's Mack branded axle through 2018.
