Volvo Buses' North American subsidiary, Nova Bus, has received an order for 475 hybrid buses from Quebec in Canada. The buses are scheduled for delivery beginning of 2014. With a total of more than 1600 delivered hybrid buses Volvo Buses is the world leader in the fast-expanding market for hybrid buses. Now the company's North American subsidiary, city bus manufacturer Nova Bus, has received an order for 475 hybrid buses from the province of Quebec in Canada. Delivery of the 475 LFS HEV buses will start in 2014. The order also encompasses an option for a further 1200 vehicles.

In May 9,689 Volvo trucks were delivered, an increase of 4% compared with the same month last year. In Europe 3,556 vehicles were delivered during May, down 11% compared with May 2012. An extensive product renewal is under way with five new truck models; Volvo FH, Volvo FM, Volvo FMX, Volvo FE and Volvo FL. All the new models include innovations and features that make the driver's job easier and more efficient. May deliveries in North America increased 10% to 2,416 vehicles in comparison with the same period in 2012. Deliveries for South America increased 30% in May to 2,178 commercial vehicles compared with May 2012. May deliveries in Brazil increased 40% to 1,750 trucks compared with May 2012.

Wells Fargo says Ward's U.S. retail sales data for May shows that NAV continues to struggle with market share amid the engine technology transition. Class 8 truck market share for May dropped to 12.5% from 15.0% in April, with PACCAR (PCAR) and Volvo (VOLVY) gaining share and Daimler (DDAIF) losing share, Wells noted, citing Ward's data.
