Vodafone (VOD) should sell itself to Verizon (VZ), rather than selling its 45% stake in Verizon Wireless to Verizon, John Hempton, the Chief Investment Office of fund manager Bronte Capital wrote on Bronte's blog. Selling the stake in Verizon Wireless would be disadvantageous to Vodafone as far as taxes are concerned, and Vodafone's management hasn't been a good steward of shareholders' money, explained Hempton, who said that Vodafone is his firm's third largest holding.
