In a press release Ofcom says: After more than 50 rounds of bidding, Everything Everywhere, Hutchison 3G UK Ltd, Niche Spectrum Ventures Ltd (a subsidiary of BT Group (BT)), Telefónica UK Ltd and Vodafone (VOD) have all won spectrum. This is suitable for rolling out new superfast mobile broadband services to consumers and to small and large businesses across the UK. Reference Link

CityFibre has filed a claim with British antitrust authorities alleging BT’s (BT) GBP12.5B takeover of EE is anticompetitive, reports The Telegraph, citing statements by CityFibre CEO Greg Mesch. BT has claimed that it will immediately cut costs if the takeover proposal succeeds, and CityFibre believes its earlier contract with EE to expand its fibre-optic network will be "effectively neutered." EE is a joint venture by Orange (ORAN) and Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY). Reference Link

Vodafone has signed a letter of intent to buy a stake in Metroweb from F2i Sgr, reports Bloomberg, citing three people with knowledge of the matter. The letter of intent does not state financial terms but two of the sources say Vodafone may fund a capital increase for as much as $532M in Metroweb's Sviluppo unit. The sources add that Vodafone stipulated that no single phone-service company gains majority control of Metroweb. Reference Link

JPMorgan says that euro weakness and uncertainties relating to the Indian spectrum auction have caused Vodafone's stock to underperform. But the firm believes that, in April, attention should shift to Vodafone's full-year results and its improving outlook in Europe while the company should resume growing in 2H15. The firm keeps an Overweight rating on the shares.
