Volaris reported its preliminary traffic results for February. The total number of booked passengers in February reached 625 thousand, a 10.5% increase compared to the same period in 2013. Volaris' demand, measured in Revenue Passenger Miles, or RPMs, increased 12.4% year over year in February. Volaris registered a load factor of 80.0% in February.

Volaris booked 2.5M passengers in Q1, a 16.2% YoY growth rate. Volaris traffic in RPMs increased 10.0%. Volaris' total Q1 operating revenues were up 35.8% YoY. Non-ticket revenues per passenger increased 41.6%. Q1 CASM decrease of 5.5% was mainly driven by a lower fuel price per gallon and efficiencies achieved in landing, take-off and navigation expenses, salaries and benefits. On a US dollar basis, Q1 CASM decreased 18.4% YoY. In Q1, Volaris experienced pressures in US-dollar denominated costs such as aircraft rents, international airport costs, and maintenance expenses due to the exchange rate depreciation of the Mexican peso.
