09:00 EDTVIMCVimicro looted, U.S. investors hold 'worthless' shares, says Trinity Research
Trinity Research Group issued a report on Vimicro, placing a Sell rating and $0 price target on the stock, citing allegations that assets estimated to be worth over $600M have been embezzled into privately held related parties by the company's co-founders and other insiders over the past four year. The group also alleges Vimicro insiders falsified financials and issued numerous press releases to "pump and dump" the company's U.S.-listed shares. U.S. investors in the Chinese company "now unwittingly hold shares of a worthless company, with no legal recourse to claim what was embezzled from them," according to the short-selling research group, which noted that "Trinity stands to profit in the event the issuer’s stock declines."
