08:01 EDTVARVarian Medical enters agreement with Prime Healthcare Serviecs
Varian Medical announced it has entered into an agreement with Prime Healthcare Services to be Prime Healthcare's exclusive supplier of technology for image-guided radiotherapy and radiosurgery. The agreement is part of a long-term plan for enhancing and extending radiotherapy and radiosurgery cancer treatment capabilities across the Prime Healthcare system. Under the agreement, Prime Healthcare acquired four TrueBeam cancer treatment systems for deployment at sites across its system. The total value of the agreement is estimated at approximately $20M over a seven-year period. Varian booked $11M of this amount during the second quarter of fiscal year 2014. The remainder of the order will be booked in accordance with the company's policies over the term of the agreement.

Brean Capital cut its price target on Varian Medical to $85 from $95 following its lower than expected Q4 results. The firm cited less than expected revenue growth due to continued delays in proton revenue recognition and softness in X-ray tube sales. Brean Capital maintains its Buy rating on Varian Medical.
