12:01 EDTUTXUTC Aerospace Systems, AVIC EM open electric system JV facility
UTC Aerospace Systems and AVIC Electromechanical Company Limited announced the opening of their joint venture facility: Xi'an AVIC Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation Electric Co., located within the Xi'an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone. The joint venture was formed to develop and manufacture the electric power system for the new C919 jetliner, built by Commercial Aviation Corporation of China. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies and AVIC EM is a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China. AUAE is a 50-50 joint venture established by UTC Aerospace Systems' Hamilton Sundstrand Holdings, Inc. and AVIC EM's subsidiary Shaanxi Aero Electric Co., Ltd. to develop and manufacture electric power systems for COMAC's C919 as well as supply UTC Aerospace Systems equipment for the international market.

Pratt & Whitney unit Pratt & Whitney announced that Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, has entered into a V-Services Fixed Price Agreement to maintain its 21 V2500 engines. The V2500 engine is offered through IAE International Aero Engines AG, an aero engine consortium led by Pratt & Whitney, in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.

Esterline's (ESL) Power Systems business group has been selected by UTC Aerospace Systems, a division of United Technologies (UTX), to design and manufacture the primary electrical power distribution systems for Embraer's second-generation of E-Jet and Mitsubishi's Regional Jet aircraft programs. In total, Esterline estimates these contracts will generate more than $200M in revenue for the company.
