12:57 EDTERJ, UTXUTC Aerospace selected by Embraer to provide wheels, brakes for E-Jets
UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (UTX) has been selected by Embraer (ERJ) to be the sole source supplier of wheels and carbon brakes for Embraer's second generation E-Jet aircraft family. UTC Aerospace Systems will provide the equipment through its Wheels & Brakes business unit headquartered in Troy, Ohio. The new Second Generation E-Jets are expected to enter into service in 2018.

Embraer S.A. and Azul Linhas Aereas have reached a final agreement for 30 firm orders for the E195-E2 jets. The contract also includes an additional 20 purchase rights for the same model, bringing the total potential order up to 50 E195-E2 jets. The contract for the E-Jets E2 has an estimated value of $3.2B, at Embraer's current list prices, if all purchase rights are converted to firm orders. The firm orders will be included in Embraer's Q2 backlog. The first delivery is scheduled for 2Q20.

Embraer Executive Jets announced that Middle East Airlines has placed an order for one midsize Legacy 500 and an option for a second aircraft of the same model. Bombardier announced that it has teamed up with Pratt & Whitney to develop and implement a data management service for the CSeries aircraft - part of the overall Bombardier Aircraft Health Management System, or AHMS, capable of transmitting real-time and recorded data from the aircraft. The AHMS will facilitate remote troubleshooting and deliver efficient and accurate diagnostics for use by maintenance and flight crews. Under this agreement, Pratt & Whitney's eFAST system will be the infrastructure unit used to perform data transmissions from the CSeries aircraft's on-board Health Management Unit to the ground. Along with Bombardier, they will make up the data acquisition structure which will automatically download, process and store data that will be available for upload to respective customer portals. Pratt & Whitney's is a subsidiary of United Technologies .
