News Breaks March 14, 2013 12:57 EDT UTX, ERJ UTC Aerospace selected by Embraer to provide wheels, brakes for E-Jets UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (UTX) has been selected by Embraer (ERJ) to be the sole source supplier of wheels and carbon brakes for Embraer's second generation E-Jet aircraft family. UTC Aerospace Systems will provide the equipment through its Wheels & Brakes business unit headquartered in Troy, Ohio. The new Second Generation E-Jets are expected to enter into service in 2018. IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders are comprised of Pratt & Whitney, Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. 08:35 EDT UTX Spirit Airlines expands aftermarket agreement with IAE Spirit Airlines (SAVE) and IAE International Aero Engines AG have amended their existing V-Services Fleet Hour Agreement to include coverage for 86 incremental V2500 engines. Spirit's entire current and future fleet of A320 family aircraft powered by V2500 engines will be covered by an IAE V-Services aftermarket agreement. The deal is valued at approximately $700M.
