Twitch, a video platform and community for gamers, announced on September 30, 2013 that the start-up received a $20M investment led by Thrive Capital, with participation from Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) among others partners and existing investors. The details regarding investors’ level of participation were not disclosed at the time. Variety reported over the weekend, citing sources familiar with the deal, that Google's (GOOG) YouTube reached an agreement to acquire Twitch for over $1B in cash.
