TeleCommunication Systems announced that it has entered into a contract with the U.S. Army to provide maritime-stabilized VSAT satellite systems with associated engineering services, part of a comprehensive TCS TotalCom solution. The contract has a total value of $6.8M if all options are exercised. This contract was issued under the Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems and Services contract vehicle. TCS is a prime GTACS contract awardee; GTACS has an estimated ceiling of $10B over five years, starting in November 2012.

08:02 EDTTSYSTeleCommunication Systems awarded $13.7M contract by U.S. Marines Corps
TeleCommunication Systems announced that the Defense Information Systems Agency has exercised the first option year period under which TCS will continue to provide Ku satellite bandwidth, terrestrial support and 24-hour support services for the U.S. Marine Corps' Tactical Satellite Communications Network. The additional $13.7M funding covers the first option year term, for the period from August 1, 2014 through July 31, 2015. The CS2 contract has a base term of three years, ending August 2015 with two subsequent one-year option terms.
