The federal government's tax credit for electric vehicles may not achieve its goals because electric vehicles are still likely to be more expensive than conventional automobiles over their life spans, The Washington Post quoted the Congressional Budget Office as saying. Moreover, the tax credits will have little or no impact on Americans' gasoline consumption or greenhouse gas consumption in the short-term, the agency found, according to the newspaper. The United Auto Workers announced that its international executive board has formally ratified the national labor agreement with General Motors. The union explained that, after its proposed agreement with GM was blocked by the union's skilled trades members, it held meetings with those members and subsequently presented their concerns to both union leadership and GM itself. Following those discussions, the parties agreed to changes that "protect core trades classifications and seniority rights," according to UAW. Reference Link

According to multiple media reports, Tesla Motors is recalling all Model S sedans, or 90,000 cars worldwide, to inspect their front seat belts after a a customer in Europe reported that her seat belt disconnected when she turned to talk to rear passengers. Seat belts in the back seat also aren't affected and the the Model X SUV is not affected either. Shares of Tesla are down 2% to $217.26 in early afternoon trading following the news.
