theflyonthewall.com: Earnings Preview: Optimistic signs for T. Rowe Price before Q4 results
T. Rowe Price Group (TROW) is expected to report Q4 results before the market open tomorrow. Analysts are looking for EPS of 55c on revenue of $546.57M. The consensus range is 51c-58c for EPS, and $535.30M-$567.74M for revenue, according to First Call. T. Rowe Price CEO R. Todd Ruppert predicted on January 18 that the company's assets under management would probably increase at least 10%-15% in 2010, according to Dow Jones. Ruppert reported that the asset manager sees "huge growth" in the Asia Pacific region. In a note to investors last month, Stifel Nicolaus analysts J. Jeffrey Hopson and Joseph M. Seibel upgraded T. Rowe Price to Buy from Hold. The analysts wrote that T. Rowe is "an obvious winner" that should benefit from a rebound in retirement flows as well as market share gains in several other areas, including offshore and mutual funds. Hopson and Seibel set a $59 target on the shares. Also in mid-December, a Deutsche Bank analyst upgraded T. Rowe to Buy from Hold, citing valuation and solid core trends. The analyst set a $55 target on the stock. :theflyonthewall.com

theflyonthewall.com: Franklin Resources gains market share as business improves, IBD reports
Mutual fund firm Franklin Resources (BEN), known for its Templeton Global Bond Fund, is on the rebound as it has seen an up tick of inflow into fixed income, reports Investor's Business Daily's "The New America". While Franklin felt the effects of the downturn, business began to improve in the fourth quarter of 2009. Most new money is going into fixed-income funds, but fund investors are starting to turn back to equities which is expected to improve this year. Among advantages against its rivals, Franklin counts its strong balance sheet, which would allow it to make an acquisition, buyback shares and increase dividends. Reference Link :theflyonthewall.com
