Tutor Perini Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Tutor Perini Building Corp., has been selected as the general contractor and has signed a contract with Florida East Coast Realty, LLC, valued at approximately $255M for construction of the Panorama Tower at 1101 Brickell Avenue in Miami, Florida. The scope of work for the project includes construction of an 82-story mixed-use tower that will feature 821 luxury rental apartments, a 250-room hotel, 80,000 square feet of retail space, 40,000 square feet of office space, and a 13-story 1,500-space parking garage. The entire Panorama Tower development will comprise approximately 2.6 million square feet. The tower will also include a recreation deck with several pools, a fully equipped fitness area, a pool deck restaurant, and two social rooms. Pre-construction work began in January 2014. Construction is expected to start in June 2014 with substantial completion expected in late 2017. The company expects to include the value of this contract as part of its reported second-quarter backlog.

Tutor Perini Corporation announced that its specialty contracting subsidiary, Five Star Electric, has recently been awarded two contracts collectively valued at approximately $123M. Five Star Electric was awarded a $90M subcontract by GCT Constructors JV, the contractor responsible for the construction and fit-out of the new LIRR concourse and related facilities at Grand Central Terminal as part of the East Side Access Project. The scope of work to be performed by Five Star Electric will include lighting, electrical service work, general power, and installation of thousands of feet of raceway for various systems. Five Star Electricís scope of work began in April 2015 with substantial completion anticipated by October 2019. Five Star Electric was awarded a $33M subcontract by Judlau Contracting Inc., to perform all the electrical work as part of the Cortlandt Street Station restoration. The station is located in the central area of the World Trade Center and had been destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. The electrical scope of work will include all power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, and signaling. Construction is set to start this month with substantial completion anticipated by the first quarter of 2018.
