06:15 EDTTOTTotal restarts production at Elgin-Franklin gas fields, Dow Jones says
Total (TOT) said that it has restarted production from the Elgin-Franklin complex of fields in the U.K. North Sea after receiving approval from the offshore safety regulator, reports Down Jones. In a statement, the company said the fields should produce 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day while a plan to drill new wells on the field is under consideration. Reference Link

The Mexican Congress yesterday approved legislation that paves the way for large, foreign energy companies to seek oil and gas in Mexico, according to The New York Times.
