06:17 EDTTMToyota raises FY13 net income outlook to 860B yen from 780B yen
Raises FY13 revenue outlook to 21.8T yen from 21.3T yen. Toyota revised its consolidated vehicles sales forecast for fiscal year 2013 from 8.75M units to 8.85M units, an increase of 100,000 units from the previous forecast announced in November 2012, due to the increased overseas vehicle sales, mostly in North America. The company said, "Given increased overseas vehicle sales mostly in North America, progress in our companywide profit improvement activities and the slight weakening of the yen, we have revised upwardly our consolidated forecast for the current fiscal year to 1.15 trillion yen and also forecast a full-year profit on an unconsolidated basis, our first in five years."

A number of automakers have been named in a lawsuit alleging that keyless ignition technology can lead to "deadly" results due to carbon monoxide poisoning from cars left running under the belief that engines will automatically switch off, reports Reuters. Defendants include General Motors (GM), Ford (F), Fiat Chrysler (FCAU), Honda (HMC), Hyundai (HYMLF), Nissan (NSANY), Toyota (TM), Volkswagen (VLKAY), BMW (BAMXY), and Daimler's (DDAIF) Mercedes Benz, said Reuters.
