A report from Russia's Vedomosti daily newspaper said that the nation could increase retaliatory sanctions against Western countries to prohibit vehicle importation if the U.S. and EU enact new sanctions on Russia's capital, according to Reuters, citing the report. Publicly traded companies in the auto industry include Fiat (FIATY), Ford (F), General Motors (GM), Honda (HMC), Nissan (NSANY), Toyota (TM) and Volkswagen (VLKAY). Reference Link

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA, has opened a probe of problems with the accelerator pedals in 360,000 of Nissan's Versa and Versa Note vehicles, the agency stated today.
