Tenet stock (THC) has fallen by 38% from a five-year high of $7.63 set April 1, 2011, in response to the CHS bid. Meanwhile, the market is down 2% over the same period. If the share-price trend is any guide, investors are voting down the company's efforts. If Tenet makes good on its promise for a better second half, the stock might recover somewhat, Barron's contends. But if it doesn't, management's feet might yet be "held to the fire".
