Symantec announced Federal Information Processing Standard, or FIPS, 140-2 validation for Symantec Messaging Gateway's Control Center Cryptographic Module and Scanner Cryptographic Module. In addition, Symantec Messaging Gateway, or SMF, received Common Criteria Assurance Continuity. The previous version of SMG achieved Common Criteria at Evaluation Assurance Level 2 and receiving Assurance Continuity further reinforces the company's commitment in ensuring that critical security products maintain their certifications. | |

Symantec's Board of Directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 15c per common share to be paid on June 27 to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on June 19. The ex-dividend date will be June 17. Symantec's Board of Directors approved the initiation of quarterly cash dividends to its shareholders in January of 2013.
