10:46 EDTPCRFYTASER slips after details revealed about competing police camera
Shares of electric weapon and police body camera maker TASER (TASR) are slipping in early trading after a competitor released details at the end of next week about its own new entrant into the police body camera space. WHAT'S NEW: At the end of last week, Panasonic (PCRFY) announced its next-generation Arbitrator body-worn camera and enhanced Unified Evidence Management System for law enforcement organizations. “As one of the first companies to offer a body-worn camera for law enforcement in 2012, we were able to gather feedback from our customers and go back to the design board to create something completely new that would meet their needs better than any other solution available,” said Greg Peratt of Panasonic. PRICE ACTION: In early trading, TASER shares are down 3% to $31.94, while Digital Ally (DGLY), which also markets body-worn cameras for police, is down nearly 5%.
