A Cerberus-led consortium yesterday agreed to buy banners including Jewel-Osco and Albertsons from Supervalu (SVU). According to observers, Cerberus could keep the Albertsons business and sell Jewel following the close of the deal, the Charlotte Observer reports, adding that Kroger (KR) is a potential suitor.
