If management can keep a lid on expenses, growth prospects in State Street's increasingly global platform look enticing. Combined with an attractive valuation, State Street shares should prove a healthy investment over the coming year. State Street shares are trading roughly in line with book value. BNY Mellon has been appointed collateral agent, insurance trustee and financial model custodian by the Rideau Transit Group for its C$2.1B transit contract. Rideau Transit Group will use the lender's proceeds to finance the construction of the Confederation Line, a light rail project that will run through the city of Ottawa, Canada. The Rideau Transit Group and the City of Ottawa have entered into a public-private partnership in which RTG will design, build, finance and maintain the Confederation Line light rapid transit system. RTG is a consortium comprising ACS Infrastructure Canada, SNC-Lavalin Capital and EllisDon.

State Street announced that it has named Michael W. Bell as executive vice president and member of its Management Committee, the company’s senior-most policy-making and strategy group. Bell will assume the role of CFO in August, following the planned retirement of Edward J. Resch who has served in the role for eleven years. He most recently served as chief financial officer of Manulife Financial Corporation in Toronto.
