05:11 EDTSSNSamson Oil & Gas provides operational advisory
The infill development plan for North Stockyard is to drill 8 middle Bakken wells and 8 Three Forks wells. Slawson has exercised its option to acquire 50% of Samsonís interest in the Billabong well following the successful conclusion to the drill pipe recovery workover. Frontier Rig 24 has drilled to kick off point of 10,813 feet and is tripping out of the hole to pick up the curve drilling assembly on the Bootleg 7-14-15TFH well. The rig will then skid to Bootleg 6-14-15TFH well to drill the surface and intermediate holes. Drilling operations have been completed in the Bluff 1-11 well. Preliminary planning for two cased hole tests has been completed and will be presented to the working interest owners for their consideration. Continental Resources has proposed to drill the Gladys 1-20H, a 1,280 acre lateral in the middle Bakken. Samson has a 23% working interest in this well. This well will be the first in the Rainbow project which is expected to maintain Samsonís production growth following the completion of the North Stockyard infill program towards the end of 2014. Rainbow will currently support a drilling program of up to 14 wells, comprised of 8 wells in the middle Bakken and 6 in the Three Forks. Continental commenced spudding operations of the Gladys 1-20H with a spudder rig on June 27, and will proceed with the remaining drilling operations on or around July 9.

10:02 EDTSSNStatoil makes oil discovery in Gulf of Mexico
Statoil (STO) announced that it has made an oil discovery in its Miocene Yeti prospect located in the Gulf of Mexico. The Yeti discovery expands the proven sub-salt Miocene play further South and West of Big Foot," said Jez Averty, Statoil's senior vice president, exploration for North America. "We are analyzing data to determine the size of the discovery in order to consider future appraisal options." The Yeti discovery was made in Walker Ridge block 160, which is located approximately 15 km (9 miles) south of the Big Foot field, and 11 km from the Cascade field. All of the blocks making up Yeti were accessed by the current owners in recent years. Yeti was drilled with the Maersk Developer drilling rig, a sixth generation semi-submersible. Statoil reports that its drilling efficiency with Yeti was among the best of any well drilled in Walker Ridge, achieving a drilling performance level of approximately 120 meters per day. The rig has moved on and is currently drilling Statoil's Thorvald prospect in the Mississippi Canyon block 814. Statoil is the operator of Yeti, and its partners are Anadarko (APC) and Samson (SSN).
