Silver Spring Networks (SSNI) announced that GridSense, an Acorn Energy (ACFN) company, will integrate the GridSense transformer monitoring solution with Silver Spring’s multi-application networking platform to enable more cost-effective, secure and intelligent transformer monitoring for utilities. The new offering within Silver Spring’s Grid Management solution creates mission critical intelligence for grid operation via the in-depth data captured by the GridSense transformer monitoring solution, resulting in cost savings from use of grid assets and increased operational efficiencies through automation.

After meeting with Silver Spring's (SSNI) management, Stifel is more upbeat on the company's positioning for additional international and domestic opportunities, and on its execution. The firm is not concerned about the impact of possible delays of the company's deployment in conjunction with American Electric (AEP). Stifel expects Silver Spring's EPS to reach 92c in 2016, and it keeps a $16 price target and Buy rating on Silver Spring.
