11:39 EDTSPX, SPYS&P 500 breaks support at the 50-day, levels to watch
The index has now decisively broken down through its 50-day moving average, last at 1812.15 and now resistance. The 1800 level was probed for support and a small reflexive bounce is under way, though it has not as yet developed legs. Support below 1800 if it should be broken today is at 1792.81. Dip buyers have saved the tape in similar technical conditions of late and it may well be that if more downside is to come they will have to fail at that several times before a real break can take place.
