11:37 EDTSPX, SPYS&P 500 climbs to session highs at mid-session
All sectors are trading up this morning as noon approaches on the east coast with the exception of the Utilities. Industrials, Health Care, and Technology are the upside leaders. At the current level of 1596.88, the index is scant points away from the 1600 objective. A breakout that holds above 1600 would embolden bulls, and possibly set off additional futures short-cover. Support is at 1591.90.

12:01 EDTSPY, SPXS&P 500 hits fresh life high, levels to watch
The inevitable grind higher in the index continues, hitting a new record at 1989.23. It does seem that barring a major negative surprise that the push for 2000 will continue until reached. On an intraday basis there is a bullish flag of sorts that could see a push to 1994 to 1996 today. A move below 1987 would break the pattern. Support is at 1985.32, the opening price.
