15:05 EDTSPX, SPYS&P 500 edges higher into final hour of regular trading, levels to watch
The index is up on the day despite fresh concerns on a crimp in demand from China as the government there attempts to cool off its overheated housing sector. At the current level of 1524.38, next resistance is at the round number of 1530, and then at 1540.36. The latter would put the index very close to its life high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average looks likely to reach that life high area first as it is just 76 points away at time of writing, about half-a-percent from a new high. Support for the index is at 1519.29.
