Under a settlement announced between Solutia (SOA) and INEOS Melamines LLC, and the U.S. EPA and the U.S. Department of Justice, the companies will pay a civil penalty of $970,000 and implement an enhanced leak detection and repair program at the Indian Orchard facility, in which they will perform monitoring of more equipment at greater frequencies than would otherwise be required under existing regulations.
