Zealand Pharma announces that its partner Sanofi has been granted a Marketing Authorization in Europe for Lyxumia by the European Commission. Lyxumia was invented by Zealand Pharma and licensed to Sanofi, which holds global commercial rights for the drug. The European Commission's decision to grant Marketing Authorization in Europe for Lyxumia is based on results from Sanofi's international GetGoal Phase III program, involving more than 5,000 patients with Type 2 diabetes in 11 clinical studies.

ImmunoGen (IMGN) announced the appointment of Richard Gregory as Executive Vice President, Research and Chief Scientific Officer. Gregory will join the company on January 5, 2015, at which time current CSO, John Lambert, will assume the position of Executive Vice President, Distinguished Research Fellow. Gregory most recently served as senior vice president and head of research for the Sanofi (SNY) Genzyme Research & Development Center.
