Sharp Corp. (SHCAY) and Panasonic (PC) are increasing sales of air purifiers in China as pollution worsens there, reports Bloomberg. Sharpís sales, built mainly in Shanghai, tripled last month from a year earlier. Panasonicís production of air purifiers for the Chinese market in January were 50% above average monthly levels.Reference Link

Foxconn (HNHPF) is set to raise its bid for Sharp (SHCAY) to JPY700B from JPY625B, the Financial Times reports, citing a person with knowledge of the plan. Foxconn founder and chairman Terry Gou is anticipated to submit the new offer to Sharp at its headquarters in Osaka over the weekend with promises to invest further in Sharp's technology, the report says.
