| theflyonthewall.com: | Harman surges after reporting better than expected results | | Harman (HAR), which develops audio products and electronic systems, reported Q2 EPS of 40c, compared with analysts' consensus estimate of 7c. The company's revenue was also higher than expected. Harman's gross margin rose 4.2% year-over-year, to 27.9%. "We are encouraged by the double-digit sales increase from the same period a year ago," said Harman CEO Dinesh Paliwal. "With our technology leadership, we are gaining market share in our Automotive Division, and our customers continue to reward us with new orders," Paliwal added. In a note to investors today, RBC Capital analyst Scot Ciccarelli responded to Harman's results by increasing his target on the stock to $45 from $42. Cicarelli believes that Harman's automotive is moving more quickly than expected towards profitability. The analyst believes that Harman has high risk, but significant appreciation potential. In early trading, Harman rallied $5.61, or 15.80%, to $41.11. :theflyonthewall.com |

At the current price of $30.60, the ETF is just 8c away from a breakout above the 10-day moving average. The 10-day has been the downtrend resistance line proxy. The ETF will need to break out above this moving average to be back on a bullish path. In that event, the following resistance levels could become upside objectives: $31.08, $31.68. However, Ghana does still threaten to block the stake if the parties do not abandon the deal. The source said the government had written to Exxon about the deal but had not gone beyond repeating the threat. Reuters reports, that analysts say, if the government were to block the deal, it could face legal action from Kosmos and that the threats to block the deal could be aimed at scuppering it without opening itself to such a liability. They have each filed to offer shares in so-called blind-pool companies, which seek to raise money before owning any assets, but their timing may be wrong. Recent blind-pool stock sales have been reduced in size, canceled or the shares are treading water, amid a slump in demand for IPOs. At the same time, real estate owners are trying to hold onto distressed or defaulted properties rather than unload them at fire-sale prices, leaving few buying opportunities. | theflyonthewall.com: | Jim Cramer's "Mad Money" | | Jim Cramer said, "The semiconductor stocks are back." They now have both cyclical and secular growth trends going in their favor, and the analysts haven't even noticed it yet. Cramer said he poured over the conference calls of dozens of semiconductor stocks over the weekend, and company after company delivered blowout earnings that were just too large to be written off as strength from a recovery global economy. He said the semis are clearly benefiting from both the cyclical economic trend as well as a long-term secular boom in digital gadgets, from cell phones to e-book readers and from smart electric power to smarter cars. Cramer said the analysts are dismissing the trend as routine growth, which is a mistake, and an opportunity for investors to get in ahead of the curve. Cramer said clearly that he doesn't care which semiconductor stock investors choose, as long as they choose at least one for their portfolio. Cramer interviewed Rep. John Sullivan (R., Okla.), about his efforts to bring natural gas into the mainstream of America's energy policy. Sullivan shared Cramer's view that natural gas needs to be the bridge fuel for America to ween itself from foreign oil until alternative energies like wind, solar and biofuels can come into fruition. Next, Cramer said, investors could've seen the earnings beat at toy maker Hasbro (HAS) coming, if they had been paying attention to the company's dividend boost last Thursday. Cramer explained that nothing shows a company's strength more than when it boosts its dividend. Hasbro is a lot more than just Monopoly, Cramer told viewers. That's why he recommended the stock on July 19 and is up 38% on that recommendation. Cramer said with several blockbuster movies like Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3 on the horizon, Hasbro should continue to deliver the stock, and dividend, growth investors are looking for. MAD MAIL: Cramer told a viewer that Mattel (MAT) is not as good as Hasbro, but it's a good company. Cramer told another viewer that he's still a believer in Apple (AAPL), but he did lower his price target on Google (GOOG) because of the company's friction with China. Cramer told a third viewer that he does not like Atmel (ATML) as much as rival Skyworks Solutions (SWKS). Cramer told a final viewer that Nucor (NUE) remains his favorite steel stock and he'd continue to stick with it. LIGHTNING ROUND: (Bullish) NKE; GLD; EGO; GILD; V; CHD; CLX; CL; POT; TNH. | theflyonthewall.com: | United Airlines reports January operational performance | | Total consolidated revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, increased in January by 2.4% on a decrease of 2.0% in available seat miles, or ASMs, compared with the same period in 2009. This resulted in a reported January consolidated passenger load factor of 78.5%, an increase of 3.4 points compared to 2009. For January, United reported a U.S. Department of Transportation on-time arrival rate of 83.6%. Consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile, or PRASM, is estimated to have increased 9.5% to 11.5% year-over-year. Consolidated PRASM is estimated to have increased 2.0% to 4.0% compared to January 2008. Given the significant volatility in the revenue environment in 2009, management believes investors will find the year-over-two-year comparison to be useful. Average mainline fuel price, including gains or losses on settled fuel hedges and excluding non-cash mark-to-market fuel hedge gains and losses, is estimated to be $2.22 per gallon for the month. Including non-cash, mark-to-market fuel hedge gains and losses, the estimated fuel price is $3.12 per gallon for the month. :theflyonthewall.com |

The studies suggest that mutations in the PI3K oncogene are predictive for the success of certain treatments of patients suffering from lung, breast, colorectal and other cancers. QIAGEN has an active PI3K assay development and partnering program with pharmaceutical companies to develop and market tests for new cancer drug candidates.
