comScore reported holiday season retail e-commerce spending for the first 44 days of the November–December 2012 holiday season. For the holiday season-to-date $33.8B has been spent online, marking a 13% increase versus the corresponding days last year. The most recent workweek saw four individual days eclipse $1B in spending, led by Green Monday with $1.275B.

Overstock.com (OSTK) is planning to launch a streaming-video service later this year, CEO Patrick Byrne announced at the National Association of Television Program Executives conference, The Wall Street Journal reports. Overstock would compete in the space with Amazon (AMZN), Hulu (DIS, CMCSA, CMCSK, FOXA), Netflix (NFLX), and Time Warner's (TWX) HBO is also planning a standalone online streaming service that will launch this year.
