09:01 EDTJPM, SCHWCharles Schwab, JPMorgan extend agreement
Charles Schwab (SCHW) has extended its agreement with J.P. Morgan (JPM) to provide Schwab clients with access to a broad range of J.P. Morganís fixed income securities. The agreement, originally signed in 2010, gives Schwabís 9.1 million client brokerage accounts access to J.P. Morganís new issue and secondary municipal bonds and corporate debt securities. Schwab clients have had access to more than 800 new corporate issues through J.P. Morgan since 2011. In 2013, total orders for these corporate new issues saw an increase of 70% over 2012, and the total face value of those orders well more than doubled in that time.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) announced that it has signed an agreement with LPL Financial (LPLA) to provide access to new issue municipal bonds to LPL financial advisors. Under the agreement, LPL will be a preferred retail dealer for J.P. Morgan, further expanding the investment bankís distribution channels for new issue municipal bonds.

JPMorgan settled a lawsuit by Texas mineral-rights owners that accused the bank of negotiating "sweetheart deals" with oil company clients to cheat them out of $681M in compensation, says Bloomberg. Beneficiaries of the South Texas Syndicate Trust alleged that JPMorgan entered into favorable deals for its commercial banking clients on the trustís rights in the Eagle Ford, added Bloomberg. The Charles Schwab Corporation released its Monthly Activity Report. Company highlights for the month of October 2014 include: Net new assets brought to the company by new and existing clients in October 2014 totaled $7.9B. Total client assets were $2.44T as of month-end October, up 12% from October 2013 and up 2% compared to September 2014. Average interest-earning assets on the companyís balance sheet were a record $141.5B as of month-end October, up 5% from October 2013 and up 1% compared to September 2014.
