Standard Chartered has entered discussions with New York’s banking regulator to settle allegations that the bank didn't discover certain transactions that should have been examined for potential money-laundering crimes, according to Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the matter. The source said that superintendent of New York’s Department of Financial Services Benjamin Lawsky is looking for over $100M from the firm. Reference Link

Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters is planning a structural overhaul to shift capital and power to new regional hubs, reports the Financial Times. According to people familiar with the situation, Winters has decided the company is ripe for simplification and streamlining.
