Standard Chartered continues to make management changes, this time it's with its Asian leadership, reports the Wall Street Journal. Ajay Chamanlal Kanwal will become the bank's new country head for South Korea in late March, replacing Richard Hill, sources say. Kanwal is currently Standard Chartered's country head for Taiwan. Hill will lead Bank Permata, the Indonesian affiliate of Standard Chartered, sources add.Reference Link

Shares of Standard Chartered have rallied 20% since the bank replaced its CEO last month, but incoming CEO Bill Winters still has to detail how the bank will bolster its balance sheet. A significant cut to the dividend is "certainly needed," and a rights issue and higher provisions against nonperforming loans will look "tempting" to Winters when he takes over this summer, according to The Wall Street Journal's "Heard on the Street" column.
