Craig Russell, Starbucks's head of coffee, says the company's coffee purchases have slowed over the past four-to-five week period, as the prices for coffee beans soared, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. Russell says arabica-coffee futures have spiked nearly 90% this year, approaching $2.15 a pound, over worries of a drought in Brazil. Reference Link
