Deutsche Bank calls SBA Communications (SBAC) and Equinix (EQIX) its top 2013 picks in Telecom Services. The firm says telecom real estate remains its preferred asset class in 2013 and raised its price target for Crown Castle (CCI) to $85 from $82, for Equinix to $270 from $230, for SBA Communications to $85 from $84, for Boingo Wireless (WIFI) to $9 from $8, and for Cbeyond (CBEY) to $8.25 from $7.50. Deutsche has Buy ratings on Crown Castle, Equinix, SBA Communications, American Tower (AMT), RigNet (RNET), and tw telecom (TWTC).

Boingo Wireless announced that it has been selected as exclusive neutral host Distributed Antenna System and small cell provider for EnergySolutions Arena. Per the multi-year agreement with Miller Sports Properties, Boingo will upgrade and manage a multi-carrier, neutral host DAS system at the arena, which seats nearly 20K fans. Boingo’s approach to neutral host DAS maximizes carrier participation and provides coverage and capacity to support fans’ connected game day and event experiences. The enhanced neutral host DAS network is slated to launch before in fall 2014.

Oppenheimer says that the following communications companies could become takeover targets: T-Mobile (TMUS), DirecTV (DTV), DISH (DISH), Level 3 (LVLT), tw telecom(TWTC), and Rackspace (RAX). The firm calls T-Mobile "a prime target," and thinks the company has several potential suitors and is best positioned to benefit from current trends. Oppenheimer expects the major surviving companies in the space to be Comcast (CMCSA), AT&T (T), Verizon (VZ), and Sprint (S). It keeps Outperform ratings on T-Mobile, Rackspace, Comcast, and Verizon. It has Perform ratings on Level 3, tw telecom, and Sprint.
